We are currently running a pilot study with general practices (England). January 2026.
The study is designed to evaluate the impact of an online chronic symptom recovery programme on general practice and their patients.
The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from practice management systems and participant provided data with qualitative insights from GPs, practice managers, and patients.
The study will run over a six month period with pilot practices “prescribing” the online programme to patients who meet the eligibility criteria.
In addition to qualitative data, the study comprises semi structured interviews with GPs, practice managers and participating patients pre, mid-way and post the intervention period. An anticipated time commitment of three hours over the six months is required from participating practices.
Quantitative metrics will include attendance patterns, prescribing costs, patient activation and satisfaction scores, symptom severity, demand for investigations/diagnostics and referral to secondary care.
A full evaluation report will be provided at the end of the study with a three month follow up to evaluate sustained results.
