Course Overview and Target Group
The simple solution for hard to treat persistent symptoms.
Rewire Your Life is a comprehensive online recovery programme designed for patients with persistent chronic symptoms such as pain, fatigue, dizziness, stress related and other functional symptoms and diagnoses (see full list below).
It is not designed for the management of patients with symptoms associated with acute or chronic conditions.

This on demand education and coaching course is designed for patients whose symptoms have been medically investigated but who continue to experience persistent difficulties which affect their health, quality of life and healthcare utilisation.

These symptoms may be clinically described as somatic, medically unexplained, psychosomatic/psychogenic, stress or anxiety related or functional.
The Rewire Your Life model views persistent symptoms as a conglomeration of factors that may include physical, medical, psychological, social, emotional and lifestyle. The course enables the individual to identify and untangle these factors to understand what is driving their symptoms.

A practical option for a complex patient cohort.
In addition to direct intervention for persistent symptoms, the course also provides lifestyle advice for sleep, food, movement and stress.

Care navigation to other useful community resources is signposted throughout the course, with a specific video lesson and a downloadable PDF provided for common sources of other useful support in the UK.

These patients represent a significant but hard to treat cohort, with often poor outcomes and repeat attendances.

Chronic symptoms impact an individual’s quality of life, with lost days at work or loss of employment, increased social isolation, impact on family and co-morbidities which include low mood and anxiety and other health markers associated with the poorer lifestyle choices that often result from living with chronic symptoms.

Patients within this undesignated cohort are usually managed for specific symptoms rather than a generic cause. There is no single intervention that can currently be made readily available by the GP.

Typically for example, a chronic pain patient may see their GP several times following investigations, receive physiotherapy, attend a specialist pain management service or course, be prescribed medication and access psychological support in the form of Talking Therapies or a specialist pain support group.

The aim of this online programme is to provide a simple, single, holistic intervention which can be generically provided to a broad range of patients, with minimal additional resource usage.
The online programme provides video based psychoeducation and coaching to enable the participant to:
Understand the cause of their chronic symptoms using self assessment checklists.
Reduce focus and rumination on symptoms.
Regulate the nervous system and reduce stress, releasing them from a spiral of fear and symptoms.
Change their beliefs about their symptoms and develop a more positive recovery mindset.
Modify their lifestyle to adopt healthier habits (food, sleep, stress and activity).
Undertake physio informed rehabilitation for movement, breathing and balance (vestibular rehabilitation).
Compile a personalised profile of the causes and triggers of their symptoms and their preferred recovery strategies.
Be signposted to other trusted sources of community support and information, including care navigation to key third sector organisations and NHS.
